Ocean Sticks — the classic seaside crab stick — are made not from crab but from Surimi, meaning "ground meat" in Japanese. Produced from pollock with all fat, bones, and skin removed, Surimi is a versatile and widely used ingredient in authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine.

Often unfairly dismissed as a low-quality product, Ocean Sticks are in fact a staple of Japanese cooking and are far more interesting than their seaside snack reputation suggests. They can be peeled apart into strips to resemble flaked crab meat — perfect for sushi, salads, and seafood platters. Think of them like cheese strings for seafood.
